The game that most typical non-expert billiards players play is the basic pockets billiards. On the other hand, players who are looking for the opportunity to showcase their ability are playing baseball billiards. You are unknowingly playing the basic pockets billiards when you are simply shooting some pool in your bowling break or when you are heading down to the local pool hall. For a couple of billiards newcomers to try, the game of baseball billiards may be both much more interesting and exciting.

As long as all fifteen balls are racked it doesn’t matter which racketing scheme is used. So the balls can be racked with an entirely random scheme. Called shots, point value being assigned to balls are not required by the game of basic pockets. The whole point of the game is to pocket at least half of eight balls before the opposite player does so.

To score the ball in the player’s total the opening shot must make the cue ball contact a ball and legally pocket it. Until a ball is not legally pocketed the shooter continues his turn. If the shooter continues his turn until all eight balls are pocketed then the game is won by the certain shooter.

Baseball billiards game

The game of baseball billiards requires 21 balls that are placed as far as they can be placed on the table without touching the back wall. Any ball pocketed by the opening shooter within the opening shot is put in the opening shooter’s overall total points. In the game of baseball billiards each shooter is allowed to have nine attempts to take as many shots as he can without fouling.

The next player begins to play when a foul occurs or a ball is illegally pocketed. For each pocketed ball during an inning, the shooter is given the combined number of points. After each player has a separate nine innings, the player that has the biggest amount of points wins the game. A player that pockets all the balls before the end of the nine innings gets to re-rack and until all nine inning are achieved he must continue playing.
