Pool Table Felt PDF Print E-mail

Most of the pool tables you will see have green felt on them. If you go to different places, you may find that some is red and you can also find purple. Pool table felt comes in many colors, but as far as I know, green is buy far the most popular color, and is what you find in many bars and arcades. I’m not sure why this is but it is what I have seen for most of my life. Green may have been the first color used, and it just stayed that way. I remember walking into an upscale bar and restaurant a few years ago and falling in love with the purple pool table felt. They only had a few tables, but they were a glorious sight to behold. I loved them instantly, though I don’t know why.

Perhaps it was because purple was not a color of pool table felt that I had every seen before, and it certainly gave the pool table a whole new look. About a year later I found some with red felt, and thought these looked neat as well. If you have a table in your home, or you have a spot where you like to go play, you probably know how important it is to take care of the pool table felt. If there is one thing I remember about playing pool when I was younger was someone saying, “Don’t scratch or rip the pool table felt. It is very expensive to replace.” I know that felt is not expensive, so I can imagine it is either specially made felt, or perhaps the installation is very expensive. Either way, you definitely don’t want to rip the felt.

When buying a table, you can probably choose the color of pool table felt that you want to have in your home. You may only be able to get one color on cheaper models, but if you go for an expensive table, you may have your choice of quite a few colors. If you buy used, one of the most important things you should look at would be the pool table felt. You don’t want to get something that is worn down to nothing, because this means you will be spending a good amount of cash to get it replaced soon. That may eat up any money you just saved by buying a used model.
